Gedrängefaktor is part of a series I work on since 2014. I call a part of it das GROßE (120).
Das GROßE is like a puzzle, made of many canvases that can be put together in different constellations to create room-filling installations.
The work changes with each room it is presented in.
Das GROßE develops further through time and with each exhibition - a big moving image. The exhibition venue becomes part of the art as well as
the places where the individual pieces end up.
Each canvas connects to its neighboring pieces at the edges, but each piece is also a window that encompasses an individual image of its own.
The wall behind and between the pieces can become a part of the art as unfinished, open space. The guiding principle of das GROßE is the theme
of overgrowth; "Too much". It is like a warning and opens questions about the worth of the individual.
